Powered by a 45cc 2-stroke engine, which runs on a 50:1 petrol/oil mixture, it has an electronic ignitiion for easy starting and a 40cm/16" sprocket nose guide bar with a 0.058" pitch .325" chain.

The Mountfield MC846 features include an automatic and adjustable chain lubrication system, front position chain tensioner, double acting chain brake, anti-vibration mountings and a primer pump.
